What is the Fonema MCP?
The Fonema MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code work with your Fonema account directly from a chat. Once connected, you can ask things like:
- "Show me yesterday's calls from the sales agent where the customer did not book a demo."
- "What did the customer say in the last call to +52 55 1234 5678?"
- "Change the greeting of my sales agent to 'Hi, this is Ana from Acme'."
- "Create a reminders agent with a female Mexican Spanish voice."
- "Call +52 55 1234 5678 with the reminders agent, the policy number is 123."
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that AI apps use to connect to external tools. Fonema exposes one MCP server that any compatible app can use.

This is the only value you need. There is no API key to copy: the app signs you in with your Fonema account (OAuth) the first time you connect.

Access and security
- Your account, your permissions. The assistant acts as the Fonema user who authorized it and only sees that user's company. Operators do not get
createAgentorupdateAgent; if a user is changed from admin to operator, the change applies on the next request. - Secrets stay private. Agent credentials, API keys and tool secrets are never returned.
- No recordings. Call audio is not available through MCP;
getCallonly tells you whether a recording exists. Use the dashboard or the Call history API to download it. - Revoke anytime. Every app you connect appears in Configuration → Connected apps, where you can revoke it. See Manage connected apps.
- Staff accounts cannot authorize external apps. Sign in with a customer account.
